Mr. Cofone has over 20 years of experience working as an accident investigator and reconstructionist. Joe retired from law enforcement after a lustrous 27-year career, most of which was spent in the area of traffic safety and accident investigation/reconstruction. Mr. Cofone helped form and ultimately supervised the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Fatal Accident Investigation Unit and attained the rank of Lieutenant prior to his retirement.

His reconstruction experience includes investigating, analyzing and reconstructing hundreds of vehicle crashes. Joe has been qualified and has testified as an expert witness in several state and municipal courts. Several books as well as numerous articles in the field of accident investigation and reconstruction have been authored by Mr. Cofone and subsequently have been published. Mr. Cofone has also lectured at various conferences and seminars around the United States and is nationally recognized as an expert in his field.

Joe's practical knowledge and experience makes him an important part of the JDA team. He is fully certified as an Accident Reconstructionist by the Accreditation Commission for Traffic Accident Reconstruction (ACTAR).
